Fun idea to make a card look like a candy cane, add some essential oil of peppermint or spearmint and have the aroma match!

You can see the clear with sparkle embossing powder (Hero Arts) I used to emboss with over the StazOn ink. Even though StazOn inks are quick drying, you can still emboss if the surface you use is slick enough or not as absorbent and you apply your powders quickly.

The ribbon was attached to a small red circle punched out with a hole puncher. the circle provides two services: To cover up the pop dot between the acetate sheet and the card underneath the ribbon, and to allow the glue to have a better chance of holding onto the ribbon.

I was thinking of making a alternate version of this car by making the red stripes an little more slender and then adding in a really thin stripe of red next to the larger stripe. I'm sure that are other ways that the embossing colors could be coordinated. Like red on white or all red or all white. Or even emboss one row or snowflakes with red to simulate the multiple stripes of red a candy cane has
