Black Cat Scraps- Oct 31st -(Part 2 of 4) Make your own elaborate die cut

Supplies used:
X-Acto knife
Pencil
Steel ruler
Vellum 6 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Slice cut out from video 1
Martha Stewart bat punch
Slice embossing mat
Gel pen for embossing (make sure it no longer works)
Tombow Mono temporary adhesive (plastic is green)

This video is part 2 of 3, how to elaborate your Slice cut out for a more detailed handmade die cut.. Tips tricks and techniques will be shared. Dry embossing on vellum and easy to find tools, a new way to use your Punch Around The Page, Corner Punch from Martha Stewart

I take the end result from video 1 and I add some velum to the from with some temp adhesive. I flip the project to the backside and dry emboss with a gel pen that no longer works as a pen. I am doing a positive dry embossed technique.

I use my Martha Stewart bats corner punch and I slide my cardstock an 1/8" in on the corner of the cardstock. Using the vellum as a guide as it is leaves an 1/8" border around the black cardstock, I punch to the corner edge of the vellum. I am left with what looks like a normal punched image with the vellum and an 1/8" corner border on the black cardstock. Very classy.

On the front side I draw/sketch a slightly larger 1/8" border around the edge of the vellum's border as well as the bats and the words. I then take an X-Acto and cut along the pencil lines, cutting away at the negative space of the cardstock and vellum.

Check out part 1 in the series if you have not seen it. in part 1 I show you how to use your slice machine as if it were a Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. by creating a template and determining it where you want it on your project and then placing the template http://blackkatscraps.blogspot.com/2010/10/black-cat-scraps-oct31st-part-1-of-4.html
